Free Web Page Design
by Ricky D
That's right. I said free! I've searched the internet for great deals and found just about anything related to the web can be had for free. But I've not found anyone who is willing to put it all together and put together a site from scratch for free. If you look around, you can find designers who don't charge the standard $100 an hour that some web spinners think they can command. The best deal I've found is on site that will take your text and convert it into up to 3 web pages for $99. That used to be the best deal, but not anymore. Because now you can get have your own site designed and built, from concept to implementation for free. Here's the deal. If I accept your project, I will spend up to 12 hours putting together a custom web site for you, or add on to or remodel your existing site. That's probably enough to set up a site with a dozen pages, or a small web store. I'll also spend up to one hour a month for a year updating your site if there are changes that you need to have made. That's up to 24 hours of free web design, absolutely free. Try to find a deal like that out there for under $1000. If you do, I'll plug it on my site.
Why would I do this? What's in it for me? Well, right now, web design is not my vocation. It's more of a distraction while I'm going to school full time to earn my computer science degree. When I decide it's time to spend full time in web design, it will be helpful to have a portfolio of my work to point to demonstrate that I know what I'm doing. I know that if I do quality work for you, it will reflect on me, and that you will tell others about me. As long as I make you happy, everybody wins.
There are naturally some restrictions. This offer will be available for a limited time only, and I can only accept the projects of a limited number of firms or individuals, and I will have complete discretion as to which projects I accept and which ones I don't. This is not some sort of bait and switch technique. I am not accepting any work for hire while this offer is in effect. I will include a text and/or an image link on each of the pages I design, and I reserve the right to change or remove that link as long as the page still contains any of my work. Any original intellectual property I produce in connection with this offer shall remain my property, though you obviously will continue to have complete title over your previously existing trademarks and any art or text that you provide me with. There may be charges by third parties if you need services like e-commerce or domain registration.
How will I decide which projects to take on? I will consider several things. I will give preference to those who have limited resources, which is to say that I'll help small businesses and individuals before I'll help huge corporations. I'll give preference to non-profit organizations, though I won't work on sites that are political or religious in nature. I won't work on sites that include pornography or messages of hate. My main consideration will be this: how interesting is your project? How clear is your vision of what you want to accomplish? Is your idea fresh and original? If so, I will likely want to help you implement it.
The things I can do to help implement your free web site include:
- HTML page layout
- Set up guest books, surveys, and other forms
- Set up simple e-commerce

If you'd like me to design a web site for you send an email to webdesign@rickyd.com. Tell me about yourself and what kind of web site you would like. Include as little or as much detail as you like. The more information that you can give me, the easier it will be for me to decide if I'm a good fit for your project. If this will be a business site, please tell me a little about your business.
I hope to hear from you soon. Apply today!
